2012 - Raymond Park, South Brisbane

This project involved designing a park based on analysis of suburb and residents. After speaking with Council members and residents, a park for family and sport was chosen. The concept of 'Health and Well-Being' is a response to a diverse range of ages in the suburb, and the evident lack of space for families.

The park was historically the first grounds in Brisbane where club soccer was played; therefore this design incorporated a renovation of the oval and introduced a club house. The surrounding gym and yoga businesses were also included in the use of the park by providing open spaces and basic equipment. The entrances to the park included water features to disguise the heavy traffic noise which surrounds the park, and the round open seating areas accommodate many workers in the area at lunch time. The lush surroundings would provide an area for releasing stress and creates an illusion of escape from the busy city area.
